Beautiful Beach Weather
How lucky can one person be - to live so close to fabulous views like this, and be able to enjoy them almost anytime??
A few weekends ago, I had a weekend at the Gold Coast with weather that was a little grey. This last weekend though, the weather was fantastic.
Even though the weather is cooling down a little, when the sun is out people are at the beach. Especially considering the weather during this last summer hasn’t been ideal for going to the beach.
Colours synonymous with summer and going to the beach are red and yellow - the colours of the invaluable surf life savers. These volunteers play an irreplaceable role in ensuring the safety of swimmers at Australian beaches.
Here is their flag, signalling where it’s safe to swim.
On this day the water was a little chilly, but there were quite a few people swimming and sunbaking.
And this is Burleigh Heads. My father lives close to this beach, so I come here quite a bit.
There is a great walk from this lookout, down this beach to another lookout, which is up the headland - in this picture it’s a large green hill, that looks a little like a whale’s head.
This beach isn’t overrun with tourists, as some of the beaches closer to Surfer’s Paradise are. Here you’ll mainly find locals.
Another great thing about this beach is that dogs are still allowed in some parts. It’s a great site seeing dogs happily frolicking in the water!
As you can tell, I just couldn’t stop taking photos!
This is the view from my father’s house. He recently retired down here, and each time I’ve gone to visit, the weather has been miserable.
On this visit though, the weather was stunning, so I couldn’t help snapping away, and also to record, for posterity, that the weather is actually “golden” on the Gold Coast.
