Cat on a Hot Tin…Desk???

Published by Alpha Murgev at 1:00 am under General

Some things you just don’t expect to happen on a normal work day. A meteor shower, or an eclipse, or a fairy dancing across your desk… Although not in the same league as these, having a stray cat fall asleep on your desk at work is not something that you see everyday.

This is exactly what happened to me a few days ago at work.

I work in a building that was at one time used as a dormitory-style house. It’s at street level and sits on a main road.

On this particular day, a stray cat just waltzed into the house and made itself at home.  It slinked around looking for attention, and generally checking out the place.

Eventually it decided my desk looked like a comfortable place to set up camp, so it jumped up, made itself at home, and proceeded to lay on top of all the papers I was working with, and go to sleep…

Now, the world doesn’t stop for something unusual these days - at least not for any length of time.  So, I kept on working, letting the cat stay there.  I continued to move the papers it was laying on until eventually this must have become a “burden”, so the cat decided to move itself to the desk next to me:

There it was parked for at least half an hour - contentedly napping, and unaware that this was not in fact it’s home.  Eventually, one of my colleagues decided to put it back outside and follow it to make sure it arrived safely at home (it’s a pretty busy road).

This particular day, the only camera I had was my phone camera, so the quality isn’t fantastic - but, at least it caught this unusual moment!

    OMG -what a sweet visitor.

He must have known there were lovely people there and felt safe.

Animals are very clever that way.

    Wonderful story.

    Thanks,

    Gloria
