One Too Many Cocktails
I know what you were expecting - funny photos of someone who’s had a bit too much to drink on a Saturday night.
Well, you’d sort of be right…
Not what you were anticipating? This is my dog. I hosted a cocktail party at my place a few weekends ago and she was helping me greet guests, and vacuum up any food scraps that fell onto the floor.
It was such a big night for the little girl, that she was absolutely pooped by the end of the night, and this is her the next day!
The funny part was, that I had a box of headache tablets next to her (which were for my fuzzy head, not hers), and having them beside her made it look like she had a hangover!
Taking the photograph was a little tricky (what’s that they say about children and animals being the most difficult subjects to photograph??), as she is a very light sleeper and would have woken up to the sound of the camera being turned on (I used my Canon Powershot S80, as it was the quickest and easiest to get hold of at the time). And, if I’d used flash she definitely would have woken up - not to mention leaving a bright hot spot, courtesy of the shiny bedspread.
So, I “camouflaged” the sound of the camera being turned on by coughing - a “safe”, familiar sound to her. I then proceeded to quickly grab the photo opportunity. Never an ideal situation from a photographic composition point of view, but at least I got the record!
Animals are even difficult to photograph when they’re asleep!
