Article on Photographers Block
When the daily grind kicks in, it’s sometimes difficult to get motivated to go out on a “field trip” and take photos. Especially when you’ve sought out most of the different places around your area and the rest just blend into the wallpaper.
I recently found an article, which gives you some great tips about getting out of the rut…
You can find the complete article at http://photocritic.org/break-photographers-block, here are some of my favourites of the tips Haje Jan Kamps provides:
1. The 100 Step Challenge - walk 100 metres with your camera, stop and look around and seek out something to photograph. Be creative, and you could be surprised at what you might find.
2. Get inspiration from other photographers and artists - this is a great way to encourage the creative juices. It immerses you in what other people are doing and just could give you new ideas.
3. Just get out there and take photos - that’s probably my favourite. I always find something “happens” when I put my camera in my hands. There’s a surge of energy and an eagerness to seek out something to photograph.
Here is something that I recently just “sought out”:

OK, so maybe it’s not 100 steps from my door, but I did take this photo, and the tips inspired me to look through old photos I’d taken. Ah, what a journey through memory lane…
It’s well worth trying some of the techniques - you never know what inspiration you can find!
