Black and White Wedding Photography

Black & White Wedding Photography Reception

As mentioned in another previous post, I recently photographed a friend’s wedding. I’d decided rather than purely shooting in digital, to also go back to my old favourite - black and white film.

Not just any old black and white film, but Delta 3200 Professional Black and White film.

For those familiar with the effects of different film speeds, you’ll know that the higher the ISO number, the more grainy the result.

Previously, I’d only used 3200 black and white film for architecture photography, but never for weddings (previously the fastest I’d gone for was ISO 1600).

Gold Coast Photographs from Above

Published by Alpha Murgev under Travel Photography

The beautiful Gold Coast in Australia has always been a must for tourists. High-rise apartment buildings cram the skyline and have typically been for holiday makers, who stay a few days, or even a few weeks.

High Tea

Old world customs appear to be back in style. In this case, the English tradition of a formal sit down high tea - in the old days, being enjoyed by “elegant”society.

My experience was for a friend’s baby shower. The old world customs appeal to my friend, and this is a great place for ladies to go and dress up, for a nice outing.

The place we went is called High Societea, in Brisbane Australia. It only caters for high teas and is exactly how one would imagine a place like this should be.

There is a faint scent of rose that lingers in the air, and the fresh cut roses on every table is a gorgeous touch. To the right is a photo of their place settings - immaculate - even down to the white and brown sugar cubes.

Menus come around, where you can choose from a traditional high tea of sweet and savoury, or you can just choose to have savoury (which also comes with a few sweet items, just to round out the palate). There is even a Chocolate Indulgence option - which I seriously considered.

Photographing a Natural Wonder

Published by Alpha Murgev under Travel Photography

A couple of weeks ago I went down to a natural wonder, aptly called the Natural Bridge, at a place called Springbrook, which is in the Gold Coast hinterland of Australia.

The bridge part is actually a waterfall that gushses over a cliff and lands in to the pool of a cave. Getting up close and personal with this natural wonder is an easy 5 minute stroll along a fully sealed path on a gentle gradient.

The day I went, the weather was a bit rainy, but with camera and tripod in hand I attempted to get some moody shots…
